How Advantage Multi® for Cats Works |

Advantage Multi® for Cats is a convenient, monthly topical solution that, when applied directly to your cat’s skin:
The two active ingredients in Advantage Multi® for Cats are imidacloprid and moxidectin.
The moxidectin in Advantage Multi® for Cats acts on the nervous system of heartworms and intestinal parasites (roundworms, hookworms) to cause paralysis and subsequent death.
Imidacloprid acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death.
Advantage Multi® for Cats is 100% effective in the prevention of heartworm disease, based on clinical trials.1
CAUTION: Federal (U.S.A.) law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
WARNINGS: Do not use on sick, debilitated, or underweight cats. Do not use on cats less than 9 weeks of age or less than 2 lbs body weight.
HUMAN WARNINGS: Not for human use. Keep out of reach of children. Children should not come in contact with the application site for thirty (30) minutes after application.
PRECAUTIONS: Avoid oral ingestion. Cats may experience hypersalivation, tremors, vomiting and decreased appetite if Advantage Multi® For Cats is inadvertently administered orally or through grooming/licking of the application site. The safety of Advantage Multi® For Cats has not been established in breeding, pregnant, or lactating cats. Use of this product in geriatric patients with subclinical conditions has not been adequately studied.
