How Advantage Multi® for Dogs Works

Advantage Multi® for Dogs is a convenient, monthly topical solution that, when applied directly to your dog’s skin:

  • Prevents heartworm disease
  • Kills adult fleas and treats flea infestations
  • Treats and controls common intestinal parasites: roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms

The two active ingredients in Advantage Multi® for Dogs are imidacloprid and moxidectin.

Imidacloprid acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death.

Moxidectin in Advantage Multi® for Dogs acts on the nervous system of heartworms and intestinal worms (roundworms, hookworms and whipworms) to cause paralysis and subsequent death.

Key Benefits:

  • Broad spectrum coverage in one convenient topical monthly application.
  • Water exposure - studies show swimming/bathing 60 - 90 minutes, respectively, after application does not affect the heartworm efficacy of the product.1
  • One topical application, once a month treats and controls multiple parasites versus several products to achieve the same coverage.
  • You can save money by using a convenient, all-in-one product versus multiple products to target heartworm disease, flea and intestinal parasite infestations.2
  • Safe and effective, when used topically as directed, for dogs and puppies that are at least seven weeks of age and that weigh at least three pounds.
  • We stand behind our product.
