Legend^® (2 mL and 4 mL) & Legend^® Multi Dose (hyaluronate sodium) Injectable Solution

Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

For use only in horses. Do not use in horses intended for human consumption.

Legend^® (4 mL) and Legend^® Multi Dose (20 mL) are approved only for intravenous use. Legend^® (2mL) is approved for intravenous and intra-articular use. The intra-articular safety of Legend^® Multi dose with benzyl alcohol has not been evaluated.

Strict aseptic technique should be observed when administering by intra-articular injection.

Radiographic evaluation should be carried out in cases of acute lameness to ensure that the joint is free from serious fracture.

The safety of Legend^® has not been evaluated in breeding stallions or in breeding, pregnant or lactating mares.

In animal safety studies, intravenous and intra-articular administration of Legend^® (2 mL) resulted in no systemic clinical signs or adverse effects on hematology or clinical chemistry. Additional animal safety studies beyond those demonstrating safety of Legend^® (2mL) were not conducted for Legend^® Multi Dose.

Following intravenous use, occasional depression, lethargy, and fever have been reported. Following intra-articular use, lameness, joint effusion, joint or injection site swelling, and joint pain have been reported.
